Status: available, no state action. Last verified October 2, 2026.

Federal courts are split on whether states can regulate sports event contracts. The Sixth Circuit (Ohio and Tennessee) and the Ninth Circuit (Nevada) ruled for the states, while the Third Circuit sided with Kalshi in New Jersey, so the Supreme Court may settle the question. Wyoming is in the Tenth Circuit, which has not ruled.
Prediction markets matter for matched betting because they do not limit winning traders. Check each app for current availability in Wyoming before you deposit.

Wyoming Sports Betting Law and Timeline
- April 5, 2021: Governor Mark Gordon signed House Bill 133 (House Enrolled Act 50), which legalized online sports wagering in Wyoming and set the minimum age at 18. Enrolled act, Wyoming Gaming Commission
- September 1, 2021: The law took effect and online sports betting launched statewide, regulated by the Wyoming Gaming Commission. The same law set civil penalties of $25,000 (first offense) and $50,000 (repeat offense) for anyone who accepts sports wagers without a state permit. W.S. 9-24-106. Current permit holders are listed on the Commission's permit holders page.
Offshore and unlicensed betting
Wyoming law makes it illegal to run an unlicensed sportsbook. Anyone who knowingly accepts online sports wagers without a permit from the Wyoming Gaming Commission faces a civil penalty of $25,000 for a first offense and $50,000 for each later offense, on top of criminal gambling penalties. W.S. 9-24-106
The law does not mention offshore sites or bettors by name. It does exempt only online sports wagering "regulated under W.S. 9-24-101 through 9-24-106" from the state's definition of gambling, and gambling outside an exemption is a misdemeanor punishable by up to six months in jail, a $750 fine, or both. W.S. 6-7-101, W.S. 6-7-102. We found no Commission enforcement action against a named offshore sportsbook.
